Symmetry Trainer/Massage Therapist
Hi there! Julie Blessyng here, excited to work with you! Massage and bodywork is my purpose and my passion...well one of my many passions. I have been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist since 2007, and am continually learning and growing all the time. I’m even dreaming of starting a new massage school to help bring forth more capable, effective, intuitive massage therapists to the industry. Sometimes people ask me in the middle of their session, “What would you call the style of massage that you’re doing? It’s different than I’ve ever experienced before.” All I can say is that it’s a compilation of over a decade of learnings from continuing ed classes, hands-on experience, learning from receiving massages, and even learning when I teach other massage therapists in Symmetry’s residency program.
My style is catered to your needs on the day of your session. Whether you come in wanting to feel more calm, grounded, and centered after a stressful week, or you have frequent headaches and seek relief, or you are recovering from an injury, and seek assistance in your healing process, or anything else, it is my pleasure to help you feel better, in fact I even consider it an honor to work with you!
I utilize techniques from Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Work, Energy Work, and more, all while being guided by intuitive listening in order to help your body relax, and let go of all that tension. I believe that when I use a slower pace, that helps your muscles to trust my touch, and therefore allows you to relax easier. Your body will release when it is ready to; there’s no forcing it or rushing it, and because of this, I like to spend longer periods of time taking care of one or two particular areas of need. An hour is seriously just a tease.
Alongside physical bodywork, I also love energy work. From chakra balancing, to aura cleansing, to clearing out the junk stored in an injury or site of old trauma, or anything else that comes up, energy work is a whole other level of healing which can also assist with relaxation, and your desired structural changes, as well as also having the potential to allow for emotional release. As a practitioner, energy work (as well as massage) requires a deep level of Presence, Allowing, and Listening. When your practitioner is Present with the body, Allows themself to be guided by the body, as well as Allow for processes to happen the way that it wants/needs to happen, and they Listen not just with their ears, but rather with their whole being, then they can be a PAL, and follow through with your needs in that session, helping you step into your desired state of being.
We envision a world where the power of touch and human connection is honored, and health and happiness is a state of being instead of a pursuit.
